The impact of election to me...~

I am cramping my brain with this corporate communication assignment, when I finally needed a break and read other people blogs. The result: An even more twisted brain. Especially regarding the election. Yes, I admit I didn’t fulfil my responsibility and vote, because I was a) too lazy to register b) clueless on who to vote c) thought nothing will change if I go out and vote. My (c) reason had proven me wrong. I thought I am not a BN supporter anymore, but to see 5 states lost to the Opposition really shocked me. I felt sad somehow. Admittedly again, I am a patriotic person, and history really teaches me about life. And this result creates new history. How BN never lose as badly as this. It alarms me of 13 May 1969. But with police enforcement on street demonstration, hopefully that bloodshed memory won’t repeat itself. And I really hope our people mentality has changed. Well, they support Opposition strongly, that surely is something new. Anyway, I agree that Pak Lah and co. needs some serious wake up call. Especially the ‘beloved’ MIC president. And how I thought with age comes wisdom. Maybe in his case, more to nyanyukness. Lol. No pun intended, just honest opinion. Anyway, Indian community had said it all. The same goes to Chinese. Even Malays. I just hope the Opposition stays true to their words. And I’ll promise myself (and my mother, uncle, aunties, atuk sedare) that I will vote the next election. Now I realize how big of an impact it brings. Well, in my case, the ‘with age comes wisdom’ applies. Tehee. Or more to ‘with lessons come conscience’.

Anyway, I am indeed sad my beloved Tun Mahathir words were neglected by the government. He had done so much to our country and I respect him above all other leaders in the world. Call me pro mahathir or mahathirisme, but I grow up listening and watching his contributions to the country. Hey, he’s not perfect. Maybe there was cronisme and corruption, but there was no racism issue, no insecurity of living in this country (not to me anyway. And to most people). And I found that perfectly acceptable. And he’s proven the people respect him still by having the other states beside Kelantan and Terengganu under his reign. Thus, I respect his opinions. And advises. And anyway, I prefer Mukhriz than Khairy Jamaluddin because I know he has a credible negarawan as his advisor. Ok, I guess I have voiced out my feelings after election. I hope Malaysia will always be a country I never ashamed of calling my home, despite all this political propaganda. Amin.

Jan-04: Bright and Glittering Dinner

I guess Thaqif had a point. I should be talking about the Jan-04 batch dinner. This hopefully can attract my beloved batchmates to come. Okay, I’ve just came back from promoting to every house in my block (which consist of my batchmates) and I’m quite disappointed with the reception. I mean, I don’t want to go stressing on the point we are volunteering our time, effort, money etc2 to organize a dinner for a batch whom I really hope to celebrate the end of my university years with, regardless they are my friends or not. I have a bunch of good friends (Thank God they all will come) and hopefully no enemy, but I am indeed fond of my batch. Despite the differences. Despite the skema-ness. I honestly feel this is the best batch for me. We support each other in many ways.

I remember we cheer for them for matches (Freestyle and Picisan), supporting the most talented band in this university (The Capoiz), even the guys came and support us (Smackthat) for our futsal league. And that’s only in my (and few other people) case. I’m sure all of us have friends whom we spend so many times with for the past 5 years right? Birthday celebrations, Ipoh outings, karaoke outings, clubs; so many to mention. But most of us had our best times with people from our batch. Why don’t make the dinner an event to reminisce all those memories? The final moment you can laugh and have fun with your friends, enjoying the things we are working hardly for you guys for this one aim: To get as many people from our batch to come and commemorate the end of our 5 years journey. If not everyone, at least those who have sense of belonging to this batch. I am sorry if me, or any committee has said or do something that might offended anyone, but please understand we are human, and human makes mistakes. I just hope people will appreciate our efforts rather than criticizing every flaw(s) that we made. We are trying to cope with everything (FYP, assignments, tests) while keep our cool under pressure. I really hope that people don’t come because of that.

Anyway, this is my best effort to try persuading my batchmates to come. We will have great meals with great performances (all from our batch, to finally show their talents), games, awards, lucky draws and above all, a night to remember. We don’t promise you perfection, but we will try to do our best to make it the night you will remember. Especially with people who have been there for you for the past 5 years. I hope that’s a good reason indeed. Hope to see you guys there!

It’s Friday Night. And I feel completely inept. I mean in finding activities. I’m not going out, my boyfriend is soo far away (deng, LDR can be tough), my roommate is out and some of my friends are sick. It’s not exactly how I want my Friday night to be. Especially after been through a busy week, then you just don’t really feel to do any academic obligations. Yet, I don’t want to sleep because I don’t want my happy hour(s) to pass by too quickly. Deng, I do think too much. I just feel like writing. Sometimes, when I browsed back my writings (owh yeah I do that often), it seems dull. I want to try something new. Maybe fictional. Not too factual. Easy going perhaps? Nah, like my corporate communication lecturer says, don’t change your values, it will degrade you. I think it’s the same goes for yourself. Unless it’s for better la.

I’m blabbering. I think life is unfair sometimes. But then, what does it says for other unfortunate people right? So I’ll try being optimistic. The grass is greener on the other side. Although I feel like I am a hypocrite for not really tell what I really feel. Or trying to be phony by being optimistic. Demm, this writing is twisted. Now people will definitely know I am complicated. But it’s only a ‘weng’ moment. I do try to be better you know. I just hope people will stop being so judgemental. As long as there’s people, there’s gossips. And those can really ruin one’s life. But not to be phony, I admit I love hearing gossips. Especially when you stuck in no-man’s land Tronoh, a hot gossip can definitely be something refreshing. Like “OMG” for every new gossip. It’s exciting. Although you are scooping on other people’s life. As long as it’s not me, or my friends, it’s fine. Not like I am the one starting them right? This is a really different post. I am giving people a glimpse (or am I giving too much?) of my personalities. Don’t give a damn because I am simply tired of thinking about consequences tonight. If it makes people understand me more, no harm done. If it makes people start a gossip about me, go ahead. As long as it doesn’t hurt me. I’m sensitive you know. So basically, I will be affected. Deng. It all goes back to the fact I am complicated. I think most people are. If you are easy=dull. If you are complicated=interesting. I’m interesting? Up to you to judge.

Okey, guess I did do something different tonight. I talked about myself. So maybe I can do something about it. Heh. Hopefully I’ll be back to my normal state. But changes are needed in order for mental stability. Good night.

This is an update of my blog. Yes, I’ve been having what they call writer’s block (not that I regard myself a professional writer. Far from it) but everyone is a writer of their own complicated life. People who have easy life are dull. Thus, there’s not much to write about. Heh. Well, it’s been quite a hectic beginning of my final year. Plus, I was sick and now am still sick due to the unpredictable weather; make it less colourful than it should have been. Never the less, I’m thankful I’m still breathing. Yes, we are tested with so many things, and I’m coping and trying my best to not put the blame on anyone, or God. It’s a journey to discover a better me.

Today, I want to write about women and emotion. Yes, women are emotional. I admit I am an emotional being. I’ve cried when I’ve watched sad, war even romantic movies. I’m touched when I saw people sacrificing themselves for others and I’m sad seeing the orange cat outside the house looked so sick. It’s a nature of a woman. Only the percentage that differs.

That’s why women break down when they fail. Or being shouted at. Even criticized. I guess men don’t get this. Or maybe they are puzzled by this side of women. Who knows? I don’t really understand them too. I admire those women who put up with all the hard things and still manage a smile at the end of the day. How I wish I am stronger when it comes to emotion. It’s a setback when you are too sensitive. Especially entering the real world, I have to be able to be stronger. Maybe that’s why I put up with all the bullies. So I can finally understand I don’t have to feel emotionally weakened by every harsh thing people said. I hope.

Women and emotion. They are complicated. But they are true. Guys, please don’t complicate things even more by being ignorant. The best way is try tolerating with the sensitiveness. And perhaps deal with it with few sweet comforting words. It’s not that difficult right? Especially to your loved one =).

Jan 2008~~

I’m sick. And every time I’m sick, I know its God’s way to punish me for my sins. Yet, do I change to live by His law? Slowly maybe. Gosh, I can be so ignorant. I realized my ignorance especially when I’m sick. I guess a lot of us do. I always have the mood to write about faith and thoughts. But I guess writing alone is not sufficient to be a loyal follower. Yes, we heard the phrase Action Speaks Louder Than Words so many times it sounds like something lame. Something to ignore. I think this post sounds emotional somehow. I am not physically or emotionally angry at anyone except myself.

‘Ignorance is bliss’, a philosopher once said. But ignorance creates an unhappy place, where people don’t care about the poor, the environment, the Law of Creator, things that create happiness and serendipity. The fundamentals of life. Thank God not all of us are ignorant. They are still those who volunteer for the Red Crescent, donates money, even helping a blind man cross the roads shows we still have that basic moral values. But those who litters, who perform crimes and those who don’t even mind knowing what’s happening in the world are perfect examples of people whom take the saying to the heart. Pity them for being such an oxymoron.

This is my first post for the year 2008. Final year student. High expectation. Fear, adrenaline rush, mixed feelings to get through this year. Hopefully less drama, less gossiping session (heh) and a smooth journey to reach the end of the road. But I know life is no fairy tale. But I hope I can get through the year by being less ignorant and more optimistic towards life. Plus, have to tone down my think-too-much attitude because it’s simply tiring to me and others. Plus plus, I really really want a final year dinner to commemorate the end of my university years. Anyone to organize? =)

Last Post of the Year

New year resolution: turn up at classes..haha:p

I want to write about frustration and disappointment. Then again, I think being pessimistic is not going to make me a better person. However, I am still going to write about those, but in an optimistic way. Or I hope someone could give me their thoughts on these issues. We face failures in life. In studies, in relationships, in friendships, you name it, the list is endless. We set our aims, and hope to achieve them, but sometimes the obstacles will find their ways to be in that path. Some of us live by the sayings “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going” but some break down and never recover. So, our inner strength and determination are the key aids in facing those down side of life cycle. How do we do that? From sayings? From seeking advises? Or the most profound way, to pray to God we will get through those turbulences. Whatever methods we are using, as long as they work, we’ll get through life obstacles. Even Tom Ford once said, “Failure in an opportunity to start again intelligently.” I guess one can look at failure as a recipe to success. Just look at Albert Einstein or Bill Gates. They were two people who failed but succeed (and bloody rich).

But to mourn over something but yet you don’t change anything about the situation is the recipe to doom ness (I don’t know if this is grammatically acceptable. Duh). Changes are needed. Especially in attitude. I say this because from that one vital aspect, you craft your life and your future. For an example of great role model, please do watch ‘Pursuit for Happyness’. A man determined enough to make us teary eyed and boosted our spirit. It made us realized that we are still fortunate to live in this country, (Note: As a peace lover, I hope all of us will not support any racism or terrorism based activities. Just look at what happened to Benazir. It’s frightening to imagine such situations in my hometown. And to see innocent people get killed). One more thing before I end my notions after quite sometimes (due to some frustrations and disappointments in life, hence this post), every time you are facing difficulties in life, don’t say, “God, I have a BIG problem”, but do say, “Problem, I have a BIG God”. After all, failure and success comes from Him. Anyway, Happy New Year everyone. Hopefully we’ll be better next year.

The Road Not Taken~~

I couldn’t write as often as I wish but when the mood strikes, no matter how hectic my life is, I have to squeeze in the words of my thoughts. Or words of my life. I’ll be having my internship presentation this SUNDAY (don’t ask why, it’s ridiculous but it’s true. Duh). I bought back the materials I aim to do back home last weekend, but I forgot to bring my mp4 connection cable to the pc (blame the short term memory *sigh*). Thus, I spent my weekend lazily eating, watching tv, received guests (:p). Thank you for coming my dearest Mr penoreh getah. It means a lot to meJ. And another BIG thank you to your housemate for saving us from last night nuisance (I know you are reading this, so just tell your adorable Mr ‘Beruk’ I dedicate this post to him:p). Okay, I guess I don’t have to extend writing that part of my life; I’m sure someone somewhere is blushing kot. Ngehehe).

I’m thinking about future. Lots of my friends are taking Petroleum while me and my BFI (:p) are taking the road not taken (Material). Well, I try not to think too much (Damn, I hate this think-too-much attitude) but I always make the decision at the very last minute and I think will do just fine (not excellent, but not too screwed up). Anyway, it’s just a few different subjects right? I don’t think it’s going to bring huge impacts to my life (Well, when it comes to studies, I always have the principle of you don’t have to work yourselves to death and get great results, but be moderate and enjoy lifeJ). Thus, I will try to be contented with my choice (There’s still add and drop for me to change my mind though :p). When the next year is coming to its end, I’m definitely going to reminisce the good ol’ days at the deserted Tronoh. I don’t know about others, but I honestly admit I will miss my university years. A lot. Life where we can take chances, have fun, able to face failure knowing we can always go on and move on without that much of a burden. The fun and easy life. I was the super sensitive cry baby once upon a time, but I think those people taught me to be stronger and to save my tears for something worthwhile. To understand different types of people with attitude that can either put smiles on my face or shouts and tears I am terribly ashamed of. However, despite all that, those are my friends. I am missing them now and look forward to spend my final year with them.

Guess that’s a pre-reminiscent. Gosh, I do feel old when I say all that. But they say with age comes wisdom. That’s the only thing I want to embrace. Together with the salary, and the prospect of a good and happy future. Hehe. I had taken the road I have doubts in 4 years ago. But I don’t have any regret now. Choices craft us into what we are. So choose wisely. Better start preparing for the presentation. Wish me luck people! =)

The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth; 5

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same, 10

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back. 15

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference. 20
